Newly emerged

I found this newly emerged Butterfly this morning when I went up to hang out the washing. He was lying on the wet grass with Fred fast approaching.  I popped him up high in a warm sunny spot to dry out and unfurl his wings .

Unfortunately I left it a bit long before I went back to check on him, he had gone...............
